Painted Wombat x Harper Ridley Fundraising Collaboration!

Hello again!

I wanted to take a minute to document our most recent collaboration with Painted Wombat Fine Arts Preschool.  I am so proud of this partnership and I want to make sure that it is properly celebrated!

The director and teacher, Shauna Gross, spent the holidays in Australia with her family and brought back a variety of fabrics.  During her vacation, the wild fires had escalated rapidly and she experienced firsthand the need, developing both from a social perspective and an environmental.

When she returned, Shauna had the wonderful idea to raise money for the countless wildlife affected. She approached me to see if we could make and sell our snack bags with the Australian sourced fabric.  Without hesitation, I knew I wanted to contribute since one of the biggest hopes I have for Harper Ridley is that we always find ways to give back, both locally and abroad.

Since September, WIRES estimates that over 1 billion animals have been affected by the wildfires.

Since the preschool is named after one of Australia’s native animals, the wombat, it made perfect sense to raise the money for WIRES (NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service Inc.)  WIRES is Australia’s largest wildlife rescue organization. They have been rescuing and caring for wildlife for over 30 years and their mission is to actively rehabilitate and preserve Australian wildlife and inspire others to do the same. (www.wires.org.au)  Since September, WIRES estimates that over 1 billion animals have been affected by the wildfires.

I am so proud to report that all our reusable snack bags sold...either at Little Modern Market or online at www.harperridley.com.  Shauna and Painted Wombat Fine Arts Preschool donated all the materials (fabric, zippers, etc) and we were able to make $454.00 to send to WIRES.

I also want to acknowledge Megan from MCurran Photography who generously donated her time and amazing talents to take some beautiful photos of the bags.

We were able to make a donation of $454.00 to WIRES.

On behalf of Shauna and myself, I want to extend a huge thank you to every person who supported this extremely special fundraiser.  I am so proud to be a part of this project and can’t wait for our next one!
